HFSS was the coming together of like minded individuals to meet a need in the Indian and other South Asian community for victims of Domestic violence. One of the founders was involved in helping a lady in an abusive relationship. It became obvious that free confidential service dedicated to victims of domestic violence of south asian origin did not exist in the Tampa Bay area. It also became obvious that our needs are unique. While several well meaning organizations for victims of Domestic Violence exist, we thought our needs can be best met by an organization that understands our unique cultural, linguistic and family dynamics.
